ESNNA Code
In compliance with Law No. 28251, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR) has established the policy against the sexual exploitation of girls, boys, and adolescents (ESNNA). As such, the ESNNA code and Manu Jungle Tour have a joint action agreement to prevent and eradicate this issue. Therefore, we declare the following:
Our Declaration of Principles
- Absolute Rejection: We reject the Sexual Exploitation of Girls, Boys, and Adolescents (ESNNA) in Peru and worldwide, generally and particularly in its modality associated with travel and tourism, as it is conduct that violates fundamental human rights and is contrary to the intrinsic objectives of tourism activity in our country.
- Denunciation and Condemnation: We denounce and condemn those who use tourism activities and the facilities and services we offer to promote, facilitate, or tolerate the occurrence of the sexual exploitation of minors.
- Voluntary Adherence: Manu Jungle Tour subscribes to this Code of Conduct against the Sexual Exploitation of Girls, Boys, and Adolescents in the Tourism sector.
- Purpose: This Code is a formal and voluntary declaration whose purpose is to establish standards of conduct for all people working at Manu Jungle Tour, aimed at protecting minors from all forms of sexual exploitation and human trafficking associated with travel and tourism.
Company Commitments
All individuals who are part of this Company, in order to take the necessary measures to protect childhood and adolescence, commit to:
- Ethical Policy: Maintaining an ethical policy of rejecting the commercial sexual exploitation of girls, boys, and adolescents in the context of travel and tourism.
- Training: Informing and training staff on the company’s policy regarding the prevention of ESNNA within the tourism field.
- Visibility: Maintaining visible symbols that alert clients and suppliers about the company’s position regarding the protection of minors.
- Clauses with Providers: Including a clause in contracts with tourism service providers declaring a common rejection of sexual exploitation.
Mandatory Clause:
“Tourism promotes a childhood and adolescence free of sexual exploitation; therefore, we do not accept any act that favors the sexual exploitation of girls, boys, and adolescents.”
